The process of digital transformation is considered a global phenomenon that significantly influences the development of modern society and the economy. Digitalization encompasses all spheres of life, transforming the way the state, businesses, and citizens interact with one another. Based on an analysis of international documents from the United Nations, the International Telecommunication Union, and the United Nations Development Programme, it was established that more than 70% of the tasks outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals can be achieved through the implementation of digital technologies. The key role of digital skills and competencies in attaining most of the Sustainable Development Goals is particularly evident in the areas of quality education, decent work and economic growth, and overcoming poverty and hunger. In the context of European integration, the digital policy of the European Union is analyzed, in particular the Digital Agenda for Europe 2030 and the Digital Europe Programme (2021-2027), which Ukraine joined in 2023. Participation in this program opens access to funding for projects in the areas of highperformance computing, artificial intelligence, digital skills, and the implementation of digital technologies in the economy and society. It is emphasized that digital competencies are crucial for training specialists who can ensure the sustainable development and competitiveness of the state. The Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) is considered separately, defining the priorities for forming a digital education ecosystem and developing digital skills from an early age. The European Parliament's recommendations for integrating digital skills courses into educational programs at all levels and creating interdisciplinary courses are presented. It is concluded that only with high-quality training in academic institutions can Ukraine ensure the successful integration into the European digital space and increase its global competitiveness
